The concept behind my work is a call to respect and honour the ordinary plants and creatures which accompany our human lives.
I paint and draw, make artist books and small sculptures. My textile pieces are drawings in thread and ink.
I frequently work from life but also aim to capture my emotional response to the subject in more abstract imagery.
I draw sound freehand, often natural sounds, for instance birdsong, but occasionally man-made sounds such as conversations or machinery.
This image is called Direction of Travel, painted in early summer 2026 using water soluble inks and oils on cradled wood panel, framed.
