The concept behind all my work is a call to respect and honour the ordinary plants and creatures which enhance our human lives.
I mainly paint and draw. I make artist books and small sculptures. My textile pieces are drawings in thread and ink.
I frequently work from life but also aim to capture my emotional response to the subject in more abstract imagery. I like to draw sound freehand, often natural sounds, for instance birdsong, but occasionally man-made sounds such as conversations or machinery.
